How do you build a brand identity for a design studio that demonstrates what it can do?
Crombie Creative needed a brand that could do more than simply identify the business. It needed to express our approach to brand and packaging design – strategic thinking combined with carefully crafted design – while being flexible enough to work across identities, packaging, digital and the wider brand world.
The challenge was to create a distinctive brand system that could demonstrate our thinking and craft through the brand itself.
We started where we start with our clients: with the thinking.
Stylescapes form an important part of our process, creating a bridge between strategy and design. They allow us to explore the visual territory of a brand before committing to a final direction – defining its mood, character, colour, typography, imagery and overall expression.
For Crombie Creative, the stylescape helped establish a visual language around our positioning: turning bright ideas into distinctive design that is memorable and iconic.
From there, we developed a visual identity built around three key attributes – Contemporary. Creative. Craft. – supported by a vibrant colour palette and a flexible design system.
The result is a brand that can move comfortably between brand identity, packaging, presentations, digital applications and our own communications, without being constrained by a single logo, colour or visual style.
A distinctive brand identity that reflects how we work: strategic in thinking, expressive in design and meticulous in the craft.
The Crombie Creative wordmark flips the idea of turning brand problems on their head into a visual expression of the studio itself.
More than simply showing what we do, the identity has become a working demonstration of our approach: Brand Crafting Bright Ideas.

BRAND VISUAL IDENTITY
The Crombie Creative logo reflects our approach, turning brand problems on their head to create distinctive designs that are memorable and iconic.
A visual identity designed to be distinctive and responsive.
A single logo or colour no longer suits a modern brands landscape. A comprehensive brand system needs to consider a range of touchpoints: digital, product, social media, packaging, collateral etc.
